This page is general information, not legal advice. Bond amounts are set by Osceola County, and every application is reviewed before a bond is issued. See our disclaimer.

Which trade needs which bond

Osceola County bonds each trade on its own, so the bond follows the license you hold. Electricians, plumbers, HVAC and air conditioning contractors, roofers, garage door installers, irrigation contractors and sign installers each have a matching bond. Contractors who work in the county right of way file the right-of-way bond. If you hold more than one license, you may need more than one bond.

What the bond does

These bonds run to the Board of County Commissioners of Osceola County. They protect residents and the county if a contractor fails to follow county codes or permit conditions and someone suffers a loss. A paid claim is repaid by the contractor, so the bond is a license requirement, not insurance for the contractor.

How to apply

Choose your trade above, enter your business and contact details, and you go straight to the secure application. Osceola County sets the required amount, confirmed after review, so check the current figure with the county before you file.
